after
the
video

two
women
being
paraded
by
a
mob
surfaced
online,
the
house
of
the
main
accused
has
been
set
on
fire,
India

reported.
As
per
the
Manipur
Police,
the
name
of
the
main
accused,
who
wore
a
green
t-shirt
in
the
viral
video
while
molesting
the
women,
is
Huirem
Herodas
Meitei.
The
32-year-old
along
with
three
others
has
been
arrested
by
the
cops.

“The
main
culprit
who
was
wearing
a
green
t-shirt
and
seen
holding
the
woman
was
arrested
today
morning
in
an
operation
after
proper
identification.
His
name
is
Huirem
Herodas
Meitei
(32
years)
of
Pechi
Awang
Leikai,”
sources
from
the
government
told
ANI
on
Thursday.

The
villagers
set
the
house
of
the
accused
on
fire
and
also
ostracised
his
family.
The
main
accused
is
from
the
Thoubal
district,
according
to
another
report.
The
identity
of
the
other
three
arrested
persons
was
not
immediately
known.
The
accused
is
seen
wearing
a
green
t-shirt
in
the
viral
video,
showing
two
women
from
one
of
the
warring
communities
being
paraded
naked
by
a
few
men
from
the
other
side.
The
incident
reportedly
occurred
on
May
4
but
came
to
light
only
on
Wednesday.
Taking
suo
motu
cognisance
of
the
video,
police
said
a
case
of
abduction,
gang
rape
and
murder
was
registered
at
Nongpok
Sekmai
police
station
in
Thoubal
district
against
unknown
armed
men
and
that
all-out
efforts
were
on
to
arrest
the
culprits
at
the
earliest.
