The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Thursday condemned the incident where women were allegedly harassed by a violent mob in Manipur, saying the “society must not remain passive spectator”.
In a statement issued on Thursday, NCP working president and Member of Parliament, Supriya Sule called for swift identification and prosecution of those responsible.
NCP chief spokesperson Mahesh Tapase urged the government to act decisively, saying that the protection of women’s dignity and safety is an inherent human right that cannot be compromised.
“Such acts of violence not only erode the moral fabric of our society but also tarnish our nation’s image on the global stage,” said Tapase.
