Gland Pharma(up 3.45 per cent), Alkem Laboratories(up 2.71 per cent), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 2.43 per cent), Natco Pharma(up 2.2 per cent) and Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(up 1.51 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Ipca Laboratories(down 0.36 per cent), Glaxosmithkline Pharmaceuticals(down 0.34 per cent) and Granules India(down 0.18 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Pharma index was up 1.03 per cent at 14237.55 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 9.75 points at 19842.9, while the BSE Sensex was up 0.93 points at 67098.37.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 21 were trading in the green, while 28 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Suzlon Energy, PNB, Bank of Maharashtra and Reliance Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of E2E Networks, Newgen Software, Indian Hume Pipe, Premier Exp and Vertexplus Technolo hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Jet Airways, Shree Ram Proteins, MT Educare, Suumaya Lifestyle and SEL Manufact hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
